In Ferrara, in the first post-war period, a company was born that managed to satisfy the needs of its customers and to look far ahead over time. Today Pasquali Srl is a third-party metalworking company specialised in cold metal working. It has about 70 employees and operates on an area of 40,000 square metres with a production plant of 10,000 sqm. Giampaolo Colletti interviews Adriano, Fabio and Silvia Pasquali for FARE INSIEME

Some call it resilience, others determination, others still perseverance. In some cases, however, it is also called courage. But on one word they all agree. Because when we talk about steel, we ultimately best summarise a business idea. Here is the story we are about to tell that starts from a steel experience. Also understood as cold metal working. But let's take a step back in time. Or rather, as we often say in this podcast, more than one. And let's start with some very commonly used objects, but which in a very delicate phase of the last century were difficult to find, and therefore were even more precious. I am referring to small jars for sugar or salt. But also to pots and pans of various sizes. Or umbrella stands or anything that can be useful to restart a community plagued by war and strenuously committed to reconstruction. Necessity is the mother of invention, we might say. Because there is no better way to begin telling the story you are about to read than to start with those needs that seemed difficult to satisfy in Italy in the first post-war period.
The history of the company . We are in the early 1950s and precisely in a small three-hundred-square-metre workshop on Viale Volano, a narrow street in the historic centre of charming Ferrara. Here, basic necessities were made. Here, the story of a firefighter who became a blacksmith by profession and a poet by passion began. We are talking about Vasco Pasquali who decided to create a company that still today is a compass to guide the needs of its customers. Then in 1967 Adriano Pasquali took over from his father Vasco and continued to invest every resource in his business, continuing the development of the artisan company until the foundation in 1998 of Pasquali Srl together with his children Silvia and Fabio. The company moved towards a new industrial reality. With courage, with awareness, with that clear vision that was never lacking since the very beginning. With that idea of solidity that we talked about at the beginning. Steel, more specifically. «Here in the company today we are three partners with industrial orders, but we still strenuously feel like artisans, in love with this company that generates an impact on the territory.» This is what Adriano, Fabio and Silvia Pasquali of Pasquali Srl say.
Company profile. Today the company represents the new frontier of metal carpentry at the service of industry. It is a third-party metalworking company specialised in cold metal working. It has about 70 employees and operates on an area of forty thousand square metres with a production plant of ten thousand sqm. We deal with fibre laser cutting of sheet metaland tubes, CNC bending, robotic and manual wire welding, CNC machine tool processing, sheet metal cutting and stamping. Each process is UNI EN ISO 9001 and UNI EN ISO 14001 certified. We produce metal components of iron, steel, aluminium and other light alloys for the production of machinery for agriculture, automotive, and earthmoving. And also tools for lifting equipment or anti-intrusion deterrents. «We have always invested significantly and recently in technological innovation with the purchase of 4.0 and 5.0 machinery including those dedicated to laser cutting of sheet metal and tubes, machine tools, bending machines, welding robots and advanced control and measurement systems», says Fabio Pasquali. In the meantime, we look to the future, putting people and the community at the centre. «We have all the potential to further increase our production thanks to a greater organisation of the staff. With our new purchase, a latest-generation Laser Tube, we hope to open up to new markets in various sectors. We are strongly convinced of the importance of being active in the Ferrara area but addressing every Region», specifies Adriano Pasquali. The company invests in local sports activities, it makes donations that help support non-profit organisations active in the area, and promotes welfare activities for employees and the work environment. «We believe in the growth of our company, which is consolidated with the introduction of the fourth generational transition, and in the continuous investment in human professionalism, technological innovation and sustainability», concludes Silvia Pasquali. It is true: excellent organisations look at people, at communities, and they go so far as to imagine future scenarios, thinking about the generations to come.
