A story of passion, research, care. Giampaolo Colletti interviews Gianluca Giusti, General Manager of Ambienta Servizi, for FARE INSIEME

There are jobs that don't make noise, but that make everything else possible. These are the ones that take place at dawn, when the cities are still asleep, or at night, when the offices are empty. There in the middle, silent and accurate, are the professionals of Ambienta Servizi: an Emilian company that has been taking care of spaces, surfaces and people for over twenty years. In Parma, Modena, Bologna: every day their intervention is invisible, but fundamental. To be there and to make a difference. Because cleanliness, hygiene, safety are not noticed… until they are missing. And then that repeated gesture — disinfecting, collecting, sanitising — becomes essential. It turns into a civil gesture. “We take care of places. But actually what we do is to take care of the people who live in those places. That’s why we never feel like we’re one step behind. On the contrary, we’re always one step ahead.” They repeat it like a mantra. And then you understand that it’s not just work. It’s passion for doing things and doing them well. After all – and we often say it here – there are companies that get noticed for what they build. And others that get remembered for what they maintain. Ambienta Servizi belongs to this second, silent category. Every day, in schools, hospitals, companies, in the places where we live and work, their task is only apparently simple: ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, order. But their work says much more: it tells of an ethic of caring.
History of the company. It all started to offer professional cleaning. In a few years it became something more: a garrison, a partner for the management of complex environments, a laboratory of social innovation. It all started in 2014 and over time it transformed into a point of reference for cleaning and porterage services and all the others related to gardening, facilities, removals. Gianluca Giusti observed his parents and decided to start the business. Because his father Giancarlo Giusti, who passed away in March 2025 at the age of 74, together with his mother Luciana Stefanini, were role models for him. An incentive to think about working at his best. Today, around a hundred people work in the company, including specialised operators, coordinators, administrative and commercial staff, for a turnover of around 4 million euros. The team is the beating heart: trained, reliable and constantly evolving. The headquarters are in Zola Predosa, in the province of Bologna. A strategic point that allows us to serve the entire metropolitan area and neighbouring provinces. «Our people enter the most delicate places in life: hospitals, schools, homes. This is why we are not just a service company. We are a company of relationships», says Gianluca Giusti, a forty-six-year-old born in Casalecchio di Reno and now General Manager of Ambienta Servizi. Every gesture of those who work for this reality - wiping a cloth, emptying a bin, sanitising a classroom - is never just technical. It is a sign of the future. A daily act that protects the collective health of today, designing that of tomorrow. Doing together is walking alongside, never in front. It is making space, with discretion. It is working to ensure that everything is clean, functional, welcoming, without asking for applause, but leaving visible traces in the well-being of others. «Our satisfaction is seeing a classroom ready to start a new day, a ward free from risks, a company that works. We take care of places, but also of people's time», says Giusti. Over the years, the company has expanded its range of action: from professional sanitisation to the management of green spaces, from porterage to internal logistics. But always with the same approach: service is a value if it generates well-being, safety, trust. Ambienta is not just in the name: it is in the choice of eco-friendly products, in low-consumption machinery, in certified and regular work. But also in the continuous dialogue with the territory: from job placement projects with social cooperatives to awareness-raising courses in schools.
Company profile. «We are a company strongly rooted in the Italian territory, we operate mainly in Emilia-Romagna but with a broad vision and a structure capable of responding to requests from other regions. We offer professional and environmental cleaning services aimed at a very heterogeneous clientèle: companies, public bodies, private individuals, healthcare facilities, commercial activities and condominium administrators. In a world that often celebrates extreme and irrational visibility, this reality reminds us that true innovation is what works without fanfare. And that proximity, after all, is the noblest of services.
