Pelliconi & C. Spa
Marco Checchi, born in Bologna in 1959, is
the CEO of Pelliconi & C. Spa.
After graduating in Foreign Languages and Literature at the University of
Bologna, he worked at Banca Popolare dell’Emilia between 1979 and 1984, where
he became Deputy-Manager of the branch. In 1984, he joined Pelliconi, a family
business specializing in the production of bottle caps, for a period of
training within the sales department and then, over the years, came to occupy
the positions of Sales Manager, Head of Purchasing and General Manager until he
was appointed CEO in 1991. In 2013, he obtained a second degree in Business
Anthropology at the University of Bologna and, in September 2020, he became
Regency Advisor for the Bologna branch of Bank of Italy (Banca d’Italia). A
member of “Council for the USA and Italy” and the Ambrosetti Club, he is on the
Board of Directors of ANFIMA (Associazione Italiana Imballaggi Metallici).
From 1st June 2022 he is Charmain of the Packaging
supply chain of Confindustria Emilia for the period 2022-2026.

BDB Srl
Silvia
Bassi, born in Bologna in 1975, is both a partner and Advisor of BDB Srl.
She grew up within the family business, which was established as a mechanical
engineering company in 1958 and evolved over time to become a leader in the
packaging sector. She has been covering a transversal directive and managerial
role since 2010, being in full charge of managing the company with particular
focus on the growth, innovation and evolution of the production sector with the
objective of reaching excellency in the company’s operational processes. She is
a supporter and promoter of lean manufacturing, therefore she is constantly
searching for new methods and approaches to maintain BDB in step with the times
heading towards an enterprise 4.0. Between 2008 and 2014, she was part of
Unindustria Bologna’s Gruppo Giovani (Young Industrialists Group).
From 1st June 2022 she is joint Managing Director of the Packaging
supply chain of Confindustria Emilia for the period 2022-2026.

Orplast Snc
Claudio
Brusori, born in Bologna in 1955, is the Owner and Sales Manager of Orplast
Snc.
He started working at 14 as an employee within the restaurant sector and
obtained his diploma from the Istituto Professionale Alberghiero Pellegrino
Artusi in Chianciano Terme (SI). He then started managing bars and restaurants
in both Florence and Rome. In 1996, he became partner of Orplast and started
working as owner and sales manager of the company, one of the sturdiest businesses
in the production of packaging and plastic shoppers with over 30 years of
experience.
From 1st June 2022 he is joint Managing Director of the Packaging
supply chain of Confindustria Emilia for the period 2022-2026.

Tetra Pak Packaging Solutions Spa
Sara
De Simoni, born in 1973, is presently Vice President, Development &
Engineering Programme Manager and Chief Executive Officer of Tetra Pak
Packaging Solutions Ltd.
After graduating in Architecture at the University of Florence (Italy)
following a Technological-Industrial Design study area, she worked as a
Research Assistant at the University of Florence from 1998 to 2001.
Since March 2001 she has held the following positions in Tetra Pak Packaging
Solutions Ltd.: Openings Development Engineer; Development & Engineering
Project Manager; Office Manager & Product Creation Process Owner; Line
Engineering A & C3; Director, Line Engineering Manager; Vice President and
Development & Engineering Equipment Engineer. In 2007 she obtained the Project
Management Professional certification at the Project Management Institute
(PMI), while in 2011 she obtained the Post Graduate Master in Technology and
Innovation Management at the Bologna Business School (Bologna, Italy).
From 1st June 2022 she is joint Managing Director of the Packaging
supply chain of Confindustria Emilia for the period 2022-2026.

ICA Packaging Machines Spa
Cesare
Rapparini, born in Bentivoglio (BO) in 1967, is Sales Manager of ICA S.p.A. and Managing Director of Aroma System.
He joined ICA in 1988, alongside his father, in the sales area. Here, he
quickly developed a strong knowledge of international markets: in 1995, he took
on the role of Marketing Manager and, in 1999, he became Sales Manager. In the
early 2000s, he took over the management of Aroma System, and made it ICA's
second innovation hub, investing in the development of recyclable and
compostable materials. Since 2007, he has been engaged on several fronts in the
sustainable innovation of the packaging supply chain, with numerous patents and
research projects in collaboration with prestigious Italian universities.
