A new phase of the multi-yeardevelopment plan for DUNA-USA is underway with the aim of making the cutting,packaging and loading processes of blocks and slabs more efficient, ofincreasing their quality and of further reducing the delivery times. It is thethird phase of expansion in three years for the Baytown, Texas facility and ispart of the group's long-term strategic growth plan.
Among the planned interventions, an automated system for cutting and loading the CORAFOAM blocks, whichsignificantly improves crossing times and, at the same time, reduces manualhandling. The investment also includes state-of-the-art machines dedicated tothe production of CORAFOAM low density polyurethane and polyisocyanurate slabs:perfect squaring, better tolerances, the possibility of grooving on request arejust some of the leading goals that we will achieve in the coming months.
The expansion of the low density slabs line is DUNA-USA's response to the growing demand for “core” materialsfor various types of composite panels applied to the most variedsectors.Арганічны And to ensure total quality at the customer's destination, anautomated packaging system is also provided that streamlines the packagingoperations, effectively protects the product during handling and transport andminimises the use of packaging materials, in line with the company's philosophyof fighting waste and of promoting sustainability in every area.
To accommodate the new equipment, the existing covered premises will be expanded by almost 900 m² andthe external storage area of approximately 6000 m² is also beingexpanded.

The construction site was opened in early 2021 and hard work is being done to complete phase three by the thirdquarter of 2021. This expansion phase fulfils previous interventions, includingthe purchase of adjacent land as well as the expansion phases of 2017 and 2018as well as the ISO-9001 corporate certification obtained in 2019 for theBaytown and Ludington sites.
