CARBON REDUCTION & INNOVATE TRANSFORMATION
Small and medium enterprises account for nearly a third of carbon emissions. At the same time, many regions are not able to support their decarbonisation. The CREDIT4CE project builds the support capacities of such regions to take forward the green transition.
CREDIT4CE aims to strengthen the capacity of Central European regions to achieve their climate goals by helping manufacturing SMEs to decarbonise, enhancing the region's historically insufficient technology transfer capabilities, and accelerating the development and adoption of innovative technologies necessary for Net Zero. The partners train them on technology transfer and speed up the development and uptake of innovative technologies needed for “net zero”. They design a new framework for green-tech innovators, which consists of a set of interventions for technology transfer and a public/private support model for green tech startups. The model will speed up the transfer of cutting-edge tech from lab to market and scale up green solutions to create new business opportunities.

The CREDIT4CE Startup Accelerator is part of the project activities under Work Package 3, titled “Supporting green-tech innovators”, and more specifically under Activity 3.3, “Startup support and private investment attraction.”
Startup ecosystems in Central Europe (CE) are underperforming due to smaller and fragmented markets, limited available capital, lack of support structures, and insufficient first-hand experience in building global companies.
For this reason, CREDIT4CE aims to improve the green-tech startup ecosystem in CE through:
1. Dedicated entrepreneurial support for startups;
2. Attraction of venture capital investments to the region;
3. Increased visibility and stronger connections between startups and their customer base.
More specifically, the CREDIT4CE Startup Accelerator is a 3-month long support programme aimed at early-stage startups developing decarbonisation technologies. The programme aims to help founders scale their solutions and launch their products in Central Europe and beyond.
By combining tailored business coaching, peer-learning opportunities, relationship-building activities, and engagement sessions with investors and potential customers, the program addresses the common challenges faced by early-stage ClimateTech entrepreneurs in the Central European region, namely small and fragmented markets, limited access to capital, insufficient business experience, and the lack of targeted support structures.
CREDIT4CE Accelerator aims to involve 20 promising startups, helping them strengthen their customer appeal, improve their fundraising capabilities, attract venture capital to the Central European region, and ultimately contribute to the decarbonisation of the manufacturing sector.
This activity is implemented in the framework of the Interreg Central Europe project CREDIT4CE (Carbon Reduction & Innovative Transformation) and is co-financed by the European Union. You can find out more about the project here: https://www.interreg-central.eu/projects/credit4ce/.
