Vection Technologies acquires Mindesk

02/03/2020

Vection Technologies, an Italian company whose holding is listed on the Australian stock exchange with ticker VR1, announced its proposal for the acquisition of Mindesk. Mindesk’s institutional investors - HTC Vive X, Primomiglio SGR and A11 Venture - will become part of Vection’s shareholder base. Mindesk developed a 3D platform that includes the possibility of creating a Virtual Reality CAD project from scratch.

“We are happy we have had the chance to support Mindesk since the beginning and to share the team’s enthusiasm for the possibilities this acquisition opens to Vection Technologies and its clients all over the world,” stated Pearly Chen, Vice President of HTC’s Business Development. “We firmly believe Virtual Reality will have a positive effect on the way we work, collaborate and connect with each other. It is nice to see Mindesk’s vision of fostering industrial productivity through real-time technology confirmed and we cannot wait to support this path as a new Vection Technologies stakeholder. “

“The acquisition of Mindesk is an essential step forward in the evolution of Vection’s CAD strategy, which aims at making design projects significantly more accessible to both technicians and non-professionals,” reported Gianmarco Biagi, Managing Director of Vection Technologies (in the photo above). “Together, Vection and Mindesk can rely on a client portfolio that includes global companies such as Lamborghini, Ferretti Yachts and Volvo Italia and can count on the best technological partners including Dassault SolidWorks, McNeel, Autodesk, Epic Games, HP, Logitech and Varjo."

Mindesk is a real-time 3D design platform that integrates with existing CAD software including McNeel Rhinoceros 6 and Grasshopper, Dassault SolidWorks 2018 and 2019 as well as Epic Games Unreal Engine Editor to extend their 3D functions: Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, real-time rendering and multi-user access. Mindesk introduces the possibility of creating a Virtual Reality CAD project from scratch: while most VR CAD software available on the market require time-consuming exports, Mindesk enables users to seamlessly pass from VR to desktop as project changes are updated in real time on both platforms.

Denis O’Keeffe, Director of Logitech’s VR/AR programme, commented on the Mindesk platform stating that: “Logitech VR Ink now works with Mindesk and we are pleased to have Mindesk as a Logitech partner. Mindesk and VR Ink form a powerful combination where it is possible to modify and create content with the utmost precision, from Rhino and Solidworks directly inside Virtual Reality.”

“We are thrilled to combine our strength with Vection Technologies,” reported Mindesk CEO Gabriele Sorrento. “The integration between Vection’s Frame S and Mindesk's real-time technology is the starting point towards a new generation of SaaS tools that will meet all the needs of design companies. We believe that combining Vection's capillary distribution network with Mindek’s global partner network is the logical step to enable both companies to grow further.”
